I was born in New York City and have lived in various places including Montclair, NJ; Ithaca, NY; Chicago; Los Angeles; Rome; Bologna; Torino; and San Giacomo di Veglia. As a recovering academic, I published and taught about Italian culture and contributed to the field of “environmental humanities” starting around 2000. I also served as Editor for the journal diacritics https://www.diacriticsjournal.com/.

Now, I am a full-time writer and critic, and I play drums in a rock band. It’s always hard to define your style, but “Psychomelancholic” seems fitting.
